The Diwaan of al-Mutanabi is the collection of poetry by al-Mutanabi, his work in poetry has been celebrated for centuries. In this course shaykh Yusuf al-Hanbali will focus on one of the Diwaan's poems, explaining it based on the well known Sharh of Abi al-Baqaa al-'Ukbari al-Hanbali.
This course is especially interesting for students who wants to start their studies into classical Arabic poetry and literature, broadening their understanding of it, all through a classical and well accepted explanation.
The poem will be read in Arabic, an English translation for it will also provided. All the classes are in English, but it may be so that parts of the explanation are expressed in Arabic and then will be rendered into English.
Upon completion one is eligible to receive an ijazah in the studied poem, it may also be expanded to include the whole Diwan and/or the Sharh (depending on possible future courses).
