Our Mu’id Sharaf al-Din Musa Abū Khuzaymah

He is Sharaf al-DIn Abu Khuzaymah Musa Groenendijk  a dedicated student of the traditional Islamic sciences with a focus on the Ḥanbalī tradition. Musa has pursued his studies under the guidance of Islamic scholars both locally and internationally, benefiting especially from the rich intellectual heritage of the Ḥanbalī school of thought under the careful tutelage and guidance of shaykh Yūsuf bin Ṣādiq al-Hanbali. His journey has been marked by deep commitment to mastering the Islamic sciences, as well as making its knowledge accessible to students from various backgrounds.

What and where does he teach?

As a mu’id Musa holds a teaching position at Al-Madrasah al-Ḥanbaliyyah, where he assists in teaching courses on Ḥanbalī/Athari ‘Aqidah, Ḥanbalī Fiqh, Ulum al-Hadith, and seerah, as well as other related subjects. In addition to his role as a mu’ied, he is co-responsible for overseeing the organization, administration of courses, and the logistics behind the various programs of the Madrasah. Musa plays an essential role in ensuring that the materials, schedules, resources and curricula are in place and maintained for a smooth operation of both online and in-person classes. At the request of shaykh Yūsuf he will soon begin acting as a mu’id in his native Dutch language, teaching and explaining foundational Ḥanbalī  texts, helping students engage with traditional Islamic sciences in their own native language, bridging the gap between starting seekers of knowledge and more advanced studies in English and Arabic.
