Needing little introduction, Qasidah al-Burdah can be considered the most widely known poems in praise of the Prophet ﷺ; a masterpiece of praise authored by Abū ʿAbdallāh Muhammad al-Ṣanhājī al-Būṣīrī.

The poem has been studied, recited, narrated and explained by the scholars of the four madhhabs throught the ages, and it holds a special place in classical Islamic scholarship, loved by the learned and liety alike. Although it has a plethora is explanations, not many Hanbali scholars have contributed in this regard, instead they aided this text by reciting it and narrating it to following generations.

This course will aim to fill this void, by offering a full reading of the poem accompanied by commentary by Shaykh Yusuf bin Sadiq al-Hanbali. After this course one will be able to deeper understand, contextualize and further appreciate the poem whist also be able to narrate it through the great scholars of the Hanbali madhhab as well as scholars outside of it.

– The reading of the poem is in Arabic, an English translation will be given.
– Commentary is in English
– Upon completing one is eligible for ijazah.
